and submit a memorandum to the Speaker.

A national seminar will be held in the capital on July 8, followed by a discussion involving women on July 20 and an art exhibition from July 23 to 25.

The alliance will also organise special prayers at mosques across the country and prayers at places of worship of other faiths on July 31. On August 5, rallies will be held across the country, from the capital to the upazila level.

Commemorative gatherings at sites associated with the uprising and graffiti-drawing programmes will also be organised across the country.

Speaking at the press conference, Hamidur Rahman Azad said some programmes would be held on dates to be finalised later by the alliance’s liaison committee. Previously announced rallies in several metropolitan cities will take place as scheduled, while a nationwide procession, excluding Dhaka, will be held on July 4.

Earlier in the day, the alliance’s liaison committee met at 11:00am to finalise the 36-day programme marking what it described as the anniversary of the “atrocities” committed during the previous government’s tenure. The programme was announced following the meeting.
