Dhaka district administration is set to launch the “Hello DC” app at the end of this month, aimed at reducing public suffering and ensuring greater transparency and accountability in administrative activities.

Farida Khanom, district magistrate and deputy commissioner in Dhaka, shared the information yesterday during a views-exchange meeting with the Court Reporters’ Unity and other media personnel in the DC’s conference room.

“Citizens from across the district will be able to access services online easily and lodge complaints regarding public issues using the app between 9:00am and 1:00pm daily,” she said.

“They are encouraged to record their problems through phone calls using the app, and necessary action will be taken accordingly,” said Farida, also Dhaka’s first female DC.

She added that the app’s launch would help curb corruption and the influence of middlemen in administrative services and also reduce public suffering in availing government-related services.
