As part of The Daily Star’s 35th anniversary celebrations, a discussion was held at the Rajshahi Shilpakala Academy yesterday afternoon. The programme opened with the national anthem and a minute’s silence in memory of those who laid down their lives during the 1971 Liberation War, the 1990 anti‑autocracy movement, and the July 2024 mass uprising. Visitors, including students, teachers and civil society members, toured a photo exhibition featuring images of the December 18, 2025 mob attack on the newspaper’s Dhaka office alongside publications highlighting Rajshahi. Among others, Rajshahi‑5 MP Nazrul Islam and The Daily Star Editor and Publisher Mahfuz Anam addressed the event.
