the attackers were led by Sohag Mahamud, 30, son of Fazlur Rahman.

They demanded to know the officers’ identities. When the Rab members identified themselves and tried to leave, the group snatched their motorcycle keys, sparking an altercation that led to the assault.

Police rushed to the spot, rescued the Rab members, and brought the situation under control.

Suspected ringleader Sohag was arrested at the scene and sent to jail through a court yesterday.

The Rab later filed a case with Lalpur Police Station. The OC said police drives are underway to arrest the others.
