Seven more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours to 8:00am yesterday, taking the total number of confirmed and suspected measles deaths to 324.

Two deaths were confirmed as being from measles, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). With these, both reported from the Chattogram division, confirmed deaths rose to 56.

Meanwhile, five more suspected measles deaths were reported during the same period, the DGHS said, pushing suspected deaths from measles to 268. Two were reported from the Rajshahi division, while one death each was reported from the Sylhet, Barishal, and Khulna divisions.

During the same period, 373 new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total to 6,099.

Besides, the DGHS recorded 1,281 new suspected cases in 24 hours, bringing the total to 44,260.
