InterContinental to Jahangir Gate, with 25 cameras installed. Authorities said it will be expanded across the capital in phases.

At present, the system can detect five types of traffic violations through camera surveillance, with more features to be added later.

The other systems launched are the Hotel Boarder Information System, Hello DMP, DMP Online Training System, DMP Residence Allocation System, DMP Leave Management System, DMP Traffic Duty Distribution Software, DMP Employee Performance Evaluation Software, and DMP Traffic News Archive.

Speaking at the event, the IGP said technology is reshaping both development and crime, with offenders using more advanced methods. “To tackle these evolving crimes, police must ensure maximum use of technology,” he said.

He described the new systems as timely initiatives to strengthen modern policing. The AI-based traffic system, he said, will help identify offenders quickly, improve discipline, reduce accidents, and enhance traffic management.

He added that the Hotel Boarder Information System would improve security and guest management in residential hotels, aiding crime prevention and intelligence work.

The “Hello DMP” platform will allow citizens to access services, lodge complaints, and seek assistance more easily, he said.

Acting DMP Commissioner Md Sarwar said the systems aim to build a modern, people-friendly police force. He noted that the traffic enforcement software, developed locally, will digitise case processing and improve enforcement.

He added that DMP plans to install 11,000 CCTV cameras and take action against violators after verifying videos submitted by citizens.
