told the parliament that currently a total of 80,320 applications are pending with the Non-Government Teacher Employee Retirement Benefit Board and the Non-Government Teacher Employee Welfare Trust.

He also said Tk 9,638 crore will be required to settle these claims and provide retirement and welfare benefits to teachers of MPO-listed non-government educational institutions.

Responding to a query of Rangpur-1 MP Rayhan Shirazi, the minister said the government is considering the issue of delay in releasing retirement and welfare allowances of teachers and employees of private educational institutions with utmost seriousness, and different effective steps have already been taken to this end.
