In response, Shafiqur said, “The statement given by the minister does not match reality. What will be achieved by such statements? Will this solve the problem? On one hand, it is claimed there is no fuel shortage, but in reality, the situation is completely different. People are visibly frustrated.”

He urged that parliament should hold an open discussion where accurate information is presented so that all members can share responsibility.

He appealed to the Speaker not to dismiss the matter outright. “Even if not today, fix a time tomorrow or the day after, adjourn the session then and allow a full discussion on this issue,” he said.
