The High Court yesterday issued a rule asking the authorities concerned of the government to explain why detaining, shooting and harassing Md Limon Hossain in 2011 by implicating him in several cases should not be declared illegal, and why they should not be directed to pay Tk 2.6 crore in compensation to him.

The court also directed the authorities to provide the names and whereabouts of the then Rab personnel involved in the incident.

The HC bench of Justice Ahmed Sohel and Justice Fatema Anwar passed the order and rule following a writ petition filed by Limon seeking necessary directives.
