Army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman yesterday reviewed troops deployed “in aid of civil power” in the northwestern Rajshahi and Rangpur regions, giving them directives and exchanging views with civil administration officials over the elections, said an ISPR statement.

The army chief joined two meetings at Rangpur Circuit House and the Infantry Regimental Centre in Rajshahi with senior military officers and divisional and district-level civil officials.

The meetings discussed issues of coordination and security management to hold the polls in a peaceful, neutral and fair manner.
