A Dhaka court yesterday issued a travel ban on former lawmaker from Dhaka-13 constituency Jahangir Kabir Nanak, his wife Syeda Arjuman Banu and their daughter S Amreen Rakhi in connection with corruption allegations against them.

Judge Md Zakir Hossain of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court in Dhaka passed the order after ACC Deputy Director Md Moniruzzanan, who is leading the inquiry team, submitted an application.

ACC Prosecutor Asaduzzaman Rana moved the application on behalf of the anti-graft body.

In the application, the ACC official said Nanak, also former textiles and jute minister, and his family amassed a huge amount of money through illegal means and corruption.
