The bulletin also forecast rainfall in different areas over a 10-day period starting from 6:00pm yesterday.

It said rain or thunder showers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty wind are likely during the first five days, with chances of continued rain or thunder showers in the following five days.

Referring to the bulletin, BMD meteorologist Md Shaheenul Islam said thunder showers, lightning, and gusty winds are typical features of Nor’westers.

Regarding the current heat, he said the country’s weather is currently in the pre-monsoon season, which lasts from March to May.

High temperatures are normal during this time.

He said global temperatures have been rising slightly each year, and Bangladesh is no exception.
