The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) yesterday ordered the authorities concerned to produce four persons, including two policemen, before it on April 9 in connection with a case over the killing of Abu Sayed, a Begum Rokeya University student, during the July mass uprising.

The tribunal also sought investigation report on the same day.

The four are Assistant Sub-Inspector Amir Hossain, Constable Sujan Chandra Roy, former university proctor Shariful Islam, and “banned” Chhatra League General Secretary Emran Chowdhury Akash.

ICT Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam told reporters after the tribunal’s proceedings that ASi Amir and Constable Sujan directly shot Abu Sayed.

He also said former proctor Shariful and BCL leader Emran along with other accused attacked on a procession of students on the university camps in Rangpur on July 16 last year, beat them and forced them out of the campus when police in cold blood shot Sayed though he posed no harm to them.

Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina is the prime accused in the case, he said.
