The High Court yesterday directed the authorities concerned to remove 30 illegal structures from the banks of Turag River in Gazipur and submit a compliance report in four months.

It also ordered fixing the geographical location of all the rivers, canals, beels, and water bodies using advanced technology and collecting biodiversity information for making a digital database.

The upazila and district administrations have been asked to take necessary steps in this regard.

The HC also directed the authorities to update the list of illegal grabbers prepared by former NRCC chairman Mujibur Rahman Howlader in 2019 and to submit it to the court within six months.
