Golam Rasul Nur Alam Chowdhury, general manager (sales) of Padma, said, “On Monday, only four tonnes of octane, four tonnes of petrol, and 59 tonnes of diesel were sold from the Padma depot. Meghna and Jamuna only sold eight tonnes and five tonnes of diesel, respectively, and nothing else.”

“Many customers want to procure fuel from us, but they are unable to do so due to safety concerns. Workers are attacking fuel tankers as soon as they leave the depots,” he added.

Badruzzaman Bablu, president of the Jashore Bus Owners Association, said, “We expect the administration to solve the problem quickly. Otherwise, transportation will stop, and passengers will suffer.”

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khalishpur Police Station Md Rafiqul Islam said they requested the workers to drive their oil tankers and stop the abstention, but they refused to listen.
