In observance of Noor Hossain Day, several political organisations placed wreaths at the Noor Hossain Square in the capital’s Zero Point area yesterday. Meanwhile, determined to resist the Awami League’s bid to bring out a procession towards Zero Point, leaders and activists of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, BNP, and Jamaat took positions in Bangabandhu Avenue and Zero Point areas. At least 10 people were beaten up in Gulistan and neighbouring areas in suspicion of being associated with AL and its front organisations. Some of them were handed over to police.
