mark instead of 100 or postponing it for two months; rescheduling the exam due to the dengue situation, and excluding the Information and Communication Technology subject from the exam.

Meanwhile, the students alleged that they were attacked by police personnel while holding the demonstration. Some eight to nine protesters were even picked up by police, they claimed.

Talking to The Daily Star, Officer-in-Charge of Shahbagh Police Station Moudut Hawlader denied any such attack.

“We picked up a few of them. Further steps will be taken after speaking to their respective college authorities,” he added.

According to Dhaka Education Board sources, this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations are set to begin on August 17 and continue until September 25. The exams will be held on all subjects, with a full marking system, in a reduced syllabus.
