Abul Hossain, acting coordinator of Domestic Workers’ Rights Network, said if the accused were charged under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act, 2010, they would have been denied bail.

Fojila Khanom, joint director of Dushtha Shasthya Kendra said according to the constitution of Bangladesh, all citizens should have equal opportunities and rights.

The participants mentioned that a total of 33 domestic workers were killed and tortured between January and December 2022, and 585 domestic workers were injured from 2011 to 2021.
