According to Google’s Workspace Updates blog post, full HD resolution is available on the web version of Google Meet when using a computer with a 1080p camera. You will also need enough performance capability on both the participants’ computers to properly run the full HD online meeting.

This new feature is turned off by default. To turn it on, simply click on the three dots on the top-right section of a video call, which will prompt you to let people see you in full HD. Click ‘turn on 1080p’ from there. 1080p video calling will be available to Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, and a few other editions. It will not be available to users with Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Education Fundamentals, or those with personal Google Accounts.
