Newcomers Fortis FC registered their first victory in top-flight football with a 1-0 win over Azampur FC yesterday as Bashundhara Kings regained top spot in the top of the Bangladesh Premier League with a 2-0 win over Rahmatganj MFS yesterday.

Fortis FC, who started the campaign with a draw against Abahani before getting beaten by champions Kings in their second match, tasted victory in their third match when former national team striker Shakhawat Hossain Rony scored the decisive goal following a one-two with Luiz Carlos in the 29th minute at the Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. The win lifted the newcomers to sixth position with four points from three matches.

Chittagong Abahani, meanwhile, registered their first point of the campaign with a 2-2 draw against Mohammedan at the Shaheed Dhirendra Nath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla.

The draw left Mohammedan in fourth position with five points from three matches while Chittagong Abahani were in seventh position with a single point from two matches.

Defending champions Kings moved to nine points from three matches, two clear of Abahani and Sheikh Jamal.
