The submission of probe report is being delayed as the investigation committee is yet to get Farhana Yeasmin Baten’s statement over forcibly cutting hair of 14 students at Rabindra University, Sirajganj on September 26.

Laila Fardous Himel, head of the committee of the university, said, “We notified Farhana of giving her statement on October 3. However, the accused teacher replied that she was sick but she didn’t submit any medical report.” Later, Farhana was given three more days, but to no avail.

Afterwards, Farhana sent a medical report of a doctor showing she is suffering from “hepatitis B”, she added.

Fifty-two people -- including the university teachers, officers and students -- gave their statements, said Laila. “We are preparing to submit the probe report within this week.”
