With sandbags, residents of Gowaldubi village in Chapainawabganj stand on the edge of an area before which acres of land stretched out not too long ago. Over the last three weeks erosion caused by strong currents of the Padma has devoured hundreds of bighas of land and homestead in the area. The photo was taken yesterday.
