Once part of Jatrabari’s Kutubkhali canal, this waterbody has been turned effectively into a large gutter due to construction work around it and then filed up with waste to the point no water passes through it. Only a few months ago, Dhaka South City Corporation had cleaned it up, but that effort has gone down the proverbial drain, judging by the looks of it. The photo was taken yesterday.
