The organisation held the press meet on the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2021-2022, remittance and the investment sector.

It demanded that the government launch pension scheme for migrant workers who return home permanently and ensure Covid-19 vaccination of migrants at home and abroad.

Besides, it demanded at least 3 percent cash incentive for sending remittance and launch of health insurance for returnee migrants.

Furthermore, the organisation demanded special allocation of Tk 1,000 crore in the national budget to support expatriates in emergency, and cheap airfare for migrant workers for their return to workplaces.

The organisation urged Biman Bangladesh Airlines to carry bodies of migrant workers home at free of cost and the authorities concerned to ease the process for expatriates to get passports and national identity (NID) cards.

It demanded for special budgetary allocation for exploring new labour markets.

The press meet was also attended by members of the organisaiton Shoab Chowdhury, Mahabub Anam, and ABM Mustak Hossain.
