Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus’ has unveiled a new concept phone capable of changing its body’s colors.

Named the 8T Concept, the back of the phone is coated with an “Electronic Color, Material and Finish” (ECMF) film. When voltage is applied, the film changes from dark blue to light silver. Additionally, the phone can use mmWave technology to capture a user’s breathing pattern and can apply the same pattern to its ECMF film.

The company claims their designers “took inspiration for these colors from the multi-hued flowing water in the hot springs of Pamukkale, Turkey.”, and by “drawing inspiration from Pamukkale and other natural elements, we can craft new interaction experiences that are more natural, intuitive, and effortless.”

Oneplus suggests the technology can be used to notify the user of incoming calls, messages, and other updates.
