A few days ago, I came across a report in this daily titled “Toxic ship heading for Bangladesh” and was greatly worried abour the threat it posed to workers’ health and our environment. Thankfully, that report had an immense impact, and the government decided to restrict the vessel’s entry. I want to congratulate The Daily Star on this achievement. I have been an avid reader of this newspaper for many years, and this is not the first time that I’ve witnessed the positive outcomes of its reporting. The fact that the report had the ability to prevent a disaster from happening makes me proud to have a credible source of information in this age of fake news.
