        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) was established in 2003. The university has now become one of the compliant private universities with a permanent campus with sound physical facilities, outstanding teaching and the commitment to the ftiturc generation. The exception of BUBT lies in the fact that all the members of the Trustee Board are educationists, professors and entrepreneurs of education. With their leadership, the university is rapidly climbing to the top in a unique position of international standard. The vision of this university is to get the reputation of a world class university with a dynamic approach to enable the students to find their place in the world. With this aim. the university has been advancing forward with the strong support of its valued members of the Board of Trustees. The outstanding achievement of BUBT in the first fifteen years has been to remain student focused. Its motto is to provide the best quality education, training and research at a reasonable cost. BUBT never compromises with the quality and professionalism.</lang>

With this end in view the courses and curricula of BUBT arc so designed as to enable the students to pursue higher education and professional goals with a sound academic background. This will help the students to equip themselves as creative leaders to contribute to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.</lang>
      </p>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">The permanent campus of BUBT is located at Rupnagar, Mirpur-2, Dhaka-1216 with three spacious buildings with all facilities for higher education. It is surrounded by a good number of educational institutions in an excellent academic atmosphere. The campus of BUBT has excellent communication links from all parts of Dhaka City as well as from outside the city by cars, buses, taxies, rickshaws etc. The facilities provided in niir campus arc air-conditioned Library, Laboratory, Hall Room, Cafeteria, Prayer Room, Class Rooms, Common Room, Study Room etc. Recently the university bought 22 bigha of land near the permanent campus at Rupnagar, which is currently used as the playground of BUBT. The land will be used to create facilities like a separate administrative building, a separate library building, an indoor games complex, student dormitories etc.</lang>

      </p>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">The University has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh, on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission. It is one of the top ranking Private Universities in Bangladesh. At present BUBT is branded for quality education and it has been recognized by the global community. It has an academic collaboration and credit transfer facilities with a number of foreign Universities. BUBT is a member of the Association of the Commonwealth Universities, a member of the Association of International Universities and also a member of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">BUBT is conunittcd to academic excellence and it follows a model of higher education consisting of trimesters, courses, credit hours, continuous evaluation and letter grading, conforming to international standards. The academic year begins from October and runs through September of the following year. An academic year is divided into three trimesters i.e.. Fall (October - January), Spring (February - May), and Summer (June -September). The trimester duration is usually fifteen weeks (thirteen weeks for classes and two weeks for the final examination and result). Academic calendars are strictly followed in BUBT and admission process usually starts three months ahead of the start of each trimester.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">BUBT is fully covered by wi-fi Internet, It has its own Servers, CAN &amp; Wi-Fi, Software &amp; Printing, Digital UMS, NSIS Collaboration, Programming Zone, Microsoft DrcamSpark etc. Computer Science and Engineering department takes care of being updated with the developments in this field, keeping BUBT as the pioneer in adapting new technologies. It regularly organizes programming camps, competitions etc.</lang>
      </p>

      </p>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">BUBT publishes its annual journal entitled BUBT Journal under a set guidelines. Advisors and the Editorial Board of BUBT Journal oversee the affairs of the Journal. Regular Call for Papers arc made and Issues printed on time. Seminars, Workshops and Extra-curricular Activities are regularly organised at BUBT. BUBT Newsletter is published on a half-yearly basis reflecting the activities of BUBT.</lang>

      </p>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) Library is one of the pioneer libraries in Bangladesh in terms of comprehensive collections, variety of services, up to date technology, professionally skilled manpower, user education etc. BUBT Library is using Automated Integrated Library Management System. This is Koha-ILS, with a MySQL database, which supports MARC-21 and accessible via Z39.50 or Scarch/Rctricvc via URL (SRU), web-based online browsing databases of books, a-v materials and journals. The users can also check their borrowing status, renew issued resources and can reserve tw o books at a time for 48 hours through the library website. The library is being used Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system to organize and arrange books, reports, journals and other resources.</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">A total of around 30,000 books with International and National Journals (hard copy), Electronic Journals (c-joumais), e-books. Audio-visual Materials, Magazines (both foreign and local), Yearly Reports. and almost all leading national dailies of Bangladesh as well as a good number of other resources are available in the library on different disciplines. In addition the library has a special collection of more than 2000 books on the War of Liberation and the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Currently, the library provides lending, reference, readers' guidance, internet reading, news clipping, database searching and printing, CD writing, audio-visual, current awareness. Selective Dissemination of Information (SD1) and reprography services to its users. The Wi-Fi and broadband internet connection of the library building help the library users to access online resources easily.</lang>
      </p>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">The university has a number of well-equipped Software and Hardware computer labs to provide all types of computer related laciltics for the students to cany out their academe-ic activities. For the students ofEEE and Textile Eginecring Departments there are good number nf well equipped Infs and \\4wkshrps with all mndem machine': and equipments to make the students oriented with the practical aspects and real life situations of the Electrical, Electronic and Textile Engineering.</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC):</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh University of Business and Techonology (BUBT) was created in the fourth round of the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of the Government of Bangladesh in 2017. At the beginning, this cell was jointly financed by University Grants Commission (UGC) and BUBT for 2 years. At present it is solely managed by BUBT to undertake some activities like, (i) to evaluate, enrich, maintain the quality of various undergraduate and graduate programs offered by different departments, (ii) to arrange necessary workshops and training programs for faculty members and officers, (iii) to supervise self assessment activities of different academic programs of BUBT and (iv) to supervise research activities of faculty members. Moreover, it maintains a liaison with the Quality AssuranceUnit of the university Grants Commission.</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Since its inception, it has been supervising about six departmental self assessment programs and six peer reviews. The research wing of this IQAC-BUBT has so far organized four Intensive Training Programs in Applied Research Methodology. More than one hundred faculty members got training on Applied Rescrch Methodology. Forty research monographs were completed by BUBT faculty members. Moreover, it organized workshops on Tertiary Level teaching methods. Teaching Ethics and Research Ethics.</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Research Centre:</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Bangladesh University of Business &amp; Technology established a Research Centre in September, 2013 with the objective of(i) acquainting its fresh faculty members with the various methods of empirical researches; and (ii) supervising research projects of young colleagues financed by BUBT. BUBT Research Centre has already completed four Intensive Training Programs on Applied Research Mcthodology.Thesc four programs covered around 102 faculty members and financed 40 empirical research projects. BUBT Research Centre is headed by a director who is a senior university professor with more than fifty years experience of teaching and research. Moreover, it has a joint research project with IQAC.</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">BUBT Language Lab:</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">BUBT Language Lab has been established with state of the art facilities through a project under the HEQEP. The BUBT Language Lab has been equipped with computers, speakers and all other modem accessories needed for such a lab. Students of BUBT make full use of the English Lab facilities to enhance their knowledge of English in four skills.</lang>
      </p>
      <p class=".Bodylaser">
        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Moot Court:</lang>
      </p>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">In BUBT there is a Moot Court to groom-up the law graduates. The future lawyers can have the practical experience of a lawyer and a judge in court arena through this Moot Court The students through the operation of a Moot Court learn drafting briefs or memorials of a case, participation in oral arguments, competition between the appellants and the respondents.</lang>
      </p>

Activities of various clubs are published regularly in BUBTNewsletters. BUBT patronises the following clubs: IT Club, English Club, Business Club, Cultural Club, Games &amp; Sports Club, Photography Club, Debating Chib, Social Welfare Club, EEE Club, Textile Club etc.</lang>

The students arc also provied with daily newspapers and monthly magazines so that they may remain updated with national and international news and current social, political, economical and literary views for the development of their faculties.         <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">BUBT has a vibrant Alumni Association. It organizes regular get-together of various intakes of students. It organizes annual picnic for the ex-students and connect them through a facebook page. Ex-students are placed in high positions in the various sectors of economy. They help BUBT students by providing internship and also job placement Besides, the Alumni Association organizes various social programs and events including festivals. In the past, the alumnus responded to various social needs and calamities organising effective outreach programs to help the poor and deprived classes in our society.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Career Guidance office (CGO) of BUBT has been established with only one clear common objective '•Students’ Wellbeing". The office works relentlessly as a team to create an environment that encourages students" learning, self development &amp; self- belief. Its vision is to focus on three aspects: career guidance, career information and career counseling. Along with the academic activities to produce readily marketable graduates for today’s corporate world, the CGO has been playing a vital role to develop our students to survive efficiently in this increasingly competitive environment. To maximize career opportunities, CGO nurtures the ingrained creativity &amp; talents of students to arrange and offer employability skills, workshop, professional seminars aiming to groom up their knowledge on their career development, enhance their level of knowledge &amp; make their skills, understanding and update them in appropriate occupations. The CGO of BUBT has built up mutual partnership with a number of industries and organizations for internship, job placement and training.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">The 1st Convocation of BUBT was held on March 21,2011 at BICC. Mr. Md. Zillur Rahman, Hon'ble President, People's Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of BUBT conferred the degrees as the Chief Gusct. Prof. Dr. Rehman Sobhan, an eminent economist and the Chairman of CPD was the Convocation Speaker. Prof. Dr. Alauddin ahmed. Education Advisor to the Prime Minister and Prof. Naznil Islam, Chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh spoke as the Special Guests. A total of 1282 students were conferred degrees in the first convocation.</lang>

Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of BUBT presided over the Convocation Ceremony and conferred the degrees. Emeritus Professor of the University of Dhaka Dr. A.K Azad Chowdhury was the Convocation Speaker. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) was present as the Special Guest. A total of6335 students were conferred degrees in the third convocation.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">BUBT in all its activities keep the students focused. Every program that it organises both academic or extra-academic, students interest and their enhancement of skills are the primary concerns. The recruitment of quality faculty is made through stringent tests and their performance standards arc evaluated. High quality faculty members with higher foreign degrees and a track record of university level teaching are included in the existing young talented faculty of BUBT. Student fees are kept low so that parents and guardians arc not burdened heavily. Even these low fees arc also collected in installments for the ease and benefit of the parents. Financial assistance and waivers are offered to deserving candidates on the basis of their academic results. A minimum of 12% students of the university get scholarships, stipends and tuition fee waiver. Full fees waiver is allowed to the sons and daughters of the freedom fighters. Additional ten per cent waiver is allowed to students of Dhaka Commerce College. Tuition fee waiver is also available for siblings and spouses. All classrooms, labs, library, cafeteria, prayer room and teachers’ rooms are air-conditioned. Classrooms are fitted with multimedia, whiteboards and internet connections. BUBT campus is CCTV covered with metal detectors at each entry point. This is to ensure full monitoring of activities which ensure absolute security. BUBT campus is drug free. Anti-terrorism drives are given every month without fail. BUBT enforces strict disciple code and all its examinations arc totally free of unfairmeans. Regular orientation programs arc arranged for freshers and the new student is acquainted with BUBT culture. BUBT takes care of its students to provide all internship and job placement facilities through its Career Development Office. BUBT nurtures and develops its students to take up responsibilities of the future not only through academic development, but also by making them good human beings. </lang>
