Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts is hosting a solo art exhibition titled, Orchestration of Colors by Uttam Kumar Basak, a prominent Indian artist based in India.

The artist has been contributing consistently to the art industry of India, producing magnificent artworks in the context of contemporary art. He has completed his BA and MA from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, where he is a faculty member at the Department of Printmaking in Kala Bhavana. He wishes to conquer the diverse world of arts through various means of creative entrepreneurship.

The exhibition has 30 artworks.

Every artwork has a unique expression of the views of the artist, who intends to represent certain places and visuals through his work. As a student of revered printmaker Somnath Hore, Basak has attained mastery over the medium of printmaking. He does clean prints in multicolour, with an illusory ease of different forms, including geometric, realistic, surrealistic and abstract. His imaginative world consists of serene human figures, sometimes shrouded in

an ethereal light and shade.

At the exhibition, Basak portrays a lean figure with staring ribs in a ground of splendid textures in tones of different colours. Stunning lithography, pen and ink on paper and reverse paintings are highlights of the show.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition took place on September 7. Revered artist Monirul Islam inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest, while art connoisseur and collector Zareen Mahmud Hosein, renowned artist-professors Nisar Hossain and

Rokeya Sultana graced the occasion as honourable guests. Nilu Rowshon Murshed, Chairperson of the Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts, presided over the programme. The exhibition, opening from 11 am to 7 pm every day, will run until September 14.
