Officials of the government's "One House, One Farm” project yesterday demanded regularisation of their jobs at Palli Sanchay Bank, in line with law.

In a press conference at Jatiya Press Club, they also raised allegations of irregularities of top officials of the bank in the recruitment process.

Md Solayman, joint general secretary of the project's employees' union, said according to the act under which the bank was formed, officials of the "One House, One Farm" project should be appointed permanently at the Palli Sanchay Bank on a priority basis.

"The bank authorities appointed new manpower through illegal recruitment business. They did not appoint us," he said.

He said police has already arrested the bank's senior officer Tofail Ahmad for receiving Tk 44

lakh as bribe for appointments, but some others who are involved in this corruption are yet to be arrested.

He demanded a circular for regularising jobs of those staffers of "One House, One Farm" project who were appointed before June 2016.

"We have been working at the bank on temporary basis for three years without any salary," Solayman said.

"If we do not get any circular in this regard immediately, we will announce tougher programmes," he said.

He said the bank authorities recruited 149 senior officers, despite a stay order of the High Court about such appointments.

Solayman urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take necessary measures against this corruption.

The Palli Sanchay Bank emerged from the government's One House, One Farm project, which is now named "My House, My Farm".
