Click and you will be presented with a YouTube player that brings the strange character, French filmmaker Georges M£li£s, welcoming you to his creations to life in a beautifully animated first-ever Virtual Reality (VR) or 360 degree interactive doodle

The two minute doodle honours the life and artistry of French illusionist and film director Georges

Melies. The interactive doodle was created by The Google Doodle Google Spotlight Stories, Google Arts & Culture,and Cinematheque Fran^ise team. The film has been produced by Nexus Studios.

Georges Melies is known for pioneering special effects and narrative film techniques during the early days of cinema. The doodle feels like it has been visualised in line with what the illusionist once said, 'My friends, I address you all tonight as you truly are; wizards, mermaids, travelers, adventurers, magicians... Come and dream with me.'
