The Hospital Mater Dei in the city of Belo Horizonte is making grand preparations as it begins preparations to welcome Brazilian superstar Neymar for his foot surgery on Saturday.

The Brazilian superstar is being provided an entire wing to house himself and around 10 companions during his recuperation after the surgery on a fractured fifth metatarsal.

The injury has not only ruled the world's most expensive player out of PSG's Champions League clash with Real Madrid on March 6, but more worryingly for the football-mad public in Brazil, also threatens the national side's build-up to the World Cup, starting in Russia on June 14.

Brazil national team surgeon Rodrigo Lasmar predicted that Neymar's recovery period would be up to three months, which would mean that he would be unable to play again until the end of May, around three weeks before Brazil play Switzerland in their opening World Cup fixture.

Lasmar, who flew in with Neymar, will be performing the sutgery alongside Gerard Saillant, the doctor who operated on Brazil legend Ronaldo after his knee injury in 2000. PSC assistant sporting director, Maxwell will also bepresent.

Neymar arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday in a wheelchair before jumping on a private plane to his residence in Mangaratiba. It was also reported that 26-year-old would go to hospital from his six-million-euro mansion by helicopter in a bid for privacy.
