Ex-CSP officer Ameeruz Zaman passes away

Mohamed Ameeruz Zaman, a former CSP and UN official, passed away on February 26, at United Hospital of natural causes, says a press release.
Zaman joined the Civil Service of erstwhile Pakistanin 1957 and after various assignments joined the UN where he worked for about 20 years in various countries. He was also the founder and chairperson of a charitable foundation focused on access to higher education for poor children.
Zaman was also general secretary of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu). A qulkhwani for him was held yesterday after the Asr prayers at 4 Paribagh (Paribagh Housing Society).
Firoza Begum's 47th anniversary of death today

Today is the 47th death anniversary of Firoza Begum, eldest daughter of late Jalal Uddin Ahmed, renowned educationist of Feni and awardwinning headmaster of Ataturk High School and Feni Pilot High School.
She passed away on March 3, 1971 at the age of only 33 years while under treatment at a hospital in Rawalpindi due to rejection of blood during transfusion owing to group mismatch, said a press release.
Firoza left behind one daughter and four sons.
Her husband was the former director of Directorate of Primary Education, late Dr Saiftiddin Ahmed, while retired additional secretary of Bangladesh government Dr Helal Uddin Ahmed is her eldest son.
Relatives, friends and well-wishers have been requested to pray for the salvation of her departed soul.
Syed Habibul Haque's 16th death

Today is the 16th death anniversary of Syed Md Habibul Haque, founder managing director of Crystal Insurance Company Ltd, says a press release.
He was a resident of Chakher, Barisal.
Habibul Haque passed away on March 3, 2002 at Sikder Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. He was a prominent insurance personality who contributed to the development of the insurance industry of the country.
On the occasion, the board of directors, shareholders, executives and employees of the company offered prayers for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
