A total of 41,132 students, who appeared in the MBBS admission test for the session 2017-18, have achieved 40 percent mark that is required for admission either in public or private medical colleges.

This is more than 50 percent of the total 80,818 students who appeared in the test held on October 6, said Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The results were published yesterday evening, and can be found on www. dghs.gov.bd/index.php/bd/.

"We are happy that the tests were held in the last two years without any controversy, " Prof Azad told The Daily Star.

According to the DGHS, there are 3,318 seats in the 31 public medical colleges, while 6,225 in 69 private medical colleges of die country.
