Separated conjoined twins Tofa and Tohura from Gaibandha were admitted to Dhaka Medical

College Hospital yesterday.

It is suspected that Tohura is suffering from blood infection, Prof Shahnoor Islam of DMCH told The Daily Star.

Her blood sample has been collected for diagnosis, she added.

"She [Tohura | is not out of danger yet," Prof Shahnoor said, adding that Tofa, however, is doing well.

A DMCH medical board, which supervised the surgery of the conjoined twins in August, will decide on the next course of her treatment after the blood test reports are available, she said.

Tohura had fever and nausea, lost weight, and could only be breast-fed.

"Her vomiting still persists and she still cannot take anything other than breast milk," the doctor also said.
