Bangladesh nationals with valid visas to India can enter and exit from Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) at Haridaspur and Cede and 24 international airports without any restriction.

Earlier, ports had to be specified in the visa but now the ports (air, Cede and Haridaspur) do not need to be specified.

Clarifying further, a diplomat of the High Commission of India (HCI) told The Daily Star that Bangladesh travelers need not have ports specified in the visa if they entered through Cede by train can exit through Haridashpur by road or from the 24 international airports. "You can enter and exit from Cede and Haridaspur without restrictions," the diplomat added.

This move is being considered another major step towards easing of entry and exit restrictions for Bangladesh travelers to India, officials said.

The HCI in a press release yesterday said, as per revised guidelines, entry/exit restrictions were removed on visas issued to Bangladeshi nationals from 24 International Airports and ICPs at Haridaspur and Cede.

The international airports include Ahmedabad, Amousi (Lucknow), Varanasi, Bangalore, Calicut, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Dabolim (Goa), Delhi, Gaya, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Amritsar, Trichy, Trivandrum, Bagdogra, and Chandigarh.
