The Charuniram Television Kahinichitra Award ceremony was held at Shawkat Osman auditorium of Central Public Library in the capital on April 1 evening.

Charunirtam has been organising the award since 2009 to promote one-hour television plays through a festival and award ceremony.

In line with the previous years, an eightday festival was held in March. The fest featured 30 one-hour television plays which went on air in 2015 on different channels. Among the screened plays, 60 artistes and crew were nominated for awards in 12 categories. This year 12 people, including artistes and crew, received the award.

Azad Abul Kalam has won the Best Actor Award, while the Best Actress Award went to Nusrat Imroze Tisha. Tobarak Hossain Bhuiyan bagged the award for Best Writer, while Sujat Shimul won Best Emerging Actor. Imraul Rafat won Best Emerging Director Award, while Golam Sohrab won the Best Director.

Mesbah Uddin received an award for screenplay, while Moyukh Bari and Neel Kamrul won trophies for editing and background music respectively.

“Adharer Reen" was nominated as Best Screenplay. Veteran actor Dilara Zaman and Enamul Haq won the Lifetime Achievement Awards.

A large number of celebrities attended the award ceremony on Friday evening.
