The final phase of the Bangladesh Premier League will start today with the first qualifier and the eliminator at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

The first qualifier, which is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm, will be played between

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's Comilla Victorians and Shakib Al Hasan's Rangpur Riders. The winners of this match will go directly to the final of the competition, whereas the team that lose will have another shot to reach the final. They will have to play the winners of the eliminator in the second qualifier. The winners of the second qualifier will make it through to the final.

The eliminator will take place immediately after the qualifier and will be contested between Kumar Sangakkara's Dhaka Dynamites and Mahmudullah Riyads' Barisal Bulls.

The Comilla Victorians finished on top after the group stages, whereas Rangpur finished second and there's no doubt that this fixture is going to be an exciting one.

The unique aspect about both these teams is that their local players have fired alongside their overseas cricketers.

One of the key players for the Victorians will be young pacer Abu Hider, who has scalped 17 wickets in the competition and is the joint-highest wicket-taker alongside Shakib. Another player Comilla will be depending on is Ahmed Shehzad, who has an average of above 40 in the competition and has been scoring consistently. For the Riders, Shakib and Jahurul Islam should play big roles. While Shakib is yet to find form with the bat, he has done well with his turners. Jahurul has been a surprise performer for Rangpur and is their highest rungetter. For Rangpur to do well tomorrow, Jahurul needs to continue his form.

The battle between Dhaka and Barisal is likely to be a contest between bat and ball. Barisal, courtesy of the West Indians in their side - Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis and Rayad Emrit -have decimated teams. In Mahmudullah, Al-Amin Hossain and Kevon Cooper, they have a number of other match-winners.

Dhaka, on the other hand, have depended a lot upon their bowlers in the competition. With the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Yasir Shah and Mosharraf Hossain in the side, they have a pretty solid bowling line-up.

However, the key for them will be their local batsmen, who haven't managed to live up to the expectations yet. Sangakkara has been the highest rungetter of the competition, but he will need support from the local batters if his side are to post a big total.
