Nazmul Hasan Papon, son of late President Zillur Rahman and Ivy Rahman, yesterday narrated how and where his mother succumbed to her injuries following a grenade attack

on an Awami League rally on the capital's Bangabandhu Avenue on August 21, 2004.

His wife Roksana Hasan also gave her deposition before the same tribunal set up adjacent to Dhaka Central Jail.

Judge Shahed Nuruddin of Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka recorded their statements and later fixed November 23 and 24 for next hearing of the cases.

In their statements, the couple said Ivy, an AL leader, was seriously injured following

the grenade attacks and she was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later died at Combined Military Hospital on August 25,2004.

Later, female police made an inquest report of the body in their presence. There were injury marks over her whole body. They also singed on some papers submitted by the law enforcers.

In the grenade attack, 24 people, including Ivy, were killed and over 300 injured.

Earlier, the tribunal recorded statements of 196 prosecution witnesses, including complainant of the cases.
