Sheikh Russel KC consolidated their second position Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League table with a thrilling 4-3 win over Feni Soccer Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.

The former champions had to dig deep and needed an injury time strike from Kingsley Chigozie to see them over the line.

The 12th win in 18 matches means Sheikh Russel take their tally to 38 points from 18 outings, four ahead of joint third-placed Mohammedan SC and Abahani, with only two games against Chittagong Abahani and Rahmatganj MFS to go.

The 2012-13 league champions fell behind in the 10th minute when Feni Soccer forward Sohel Mia danced past centre-back Atiqur Rahman Meshu to drive home.

However the Blue Tigers hit back 14 minutes later, Mithun Chowdhury slamming home after darting into the box on a long ball from the deep.

Paul Emile headed in to give Sheikh Russel the lead in the 51st minute before Zahid Hossain Emily made it 3-1 just two minutes later.

Sheikh Russel's horrible defending paved the way for a Feni fightback, with Ali Hossain reducing the arrears in the 58th minute before Abdullah Al Mamun equalised in the 61st minute.

However, Chigozie made sure all three points were in Sheikh Russel's coffer finishing his solo move with a clinical finish two minutes into stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Brothers Union notched up their ninth victory with a 1-0 win over Rahmatganj MFS at the same venue earlier in the day. Mohammad Rony struck the decisive goal in the 15th minute to help the Gopibagh outfit stay in fifth position, with 32 points while Rahmatganj remained in ninth position with 14 points.

Away at the MA Aziz Stadium, hosts Chittagong Abahani held Team BJMC to a goalless draw to stay ahead of suspended Farashganj SC with 12 points. Team BJMC were in eighth position with 16 points.
