Ihtisham Kabir's solo photography exhibition “The Colours of Life' opened in the capital on lanuary 31. Wanja Campos da Ndbrega, Ambassador of Brazil to Bangladesh was the chief guest at the inauguration, while Rokia Afzal Rahman, President, Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs was the special guest.

Beautiful images of various categories, starting from natural objects to moment-based lifestyle shots, are at the heart of this

exhibit. In other words, it is an exhibition on Bangladesh by a Bangladeshi who extensively travelled throughout this land and captured its natural beauty through the lens. Not only nature, but the photographer also beautifully shot how Bangladeshis celebrated life in different ways.

Even plain landscapes look different in Ihtisham's frames, while the macro of flowers and tree leaves are pleasant to look at About his photos, Ihtisham said, "All these photos are shot in different corners of Bangladesh,

and I think it reflects the beauty this country.*

Ihtisham is an avid traveler and his photos have an impact on it. The joy of life is clearly visible in his photos, and hence the title “The Colours of Life' does justice to the photos. It was incredibly refreshing to look at the exhibition hanging on the walls of home n DScor, which itself is a beautiful home furnishing house.

Ihtisham, who spent most of his life in USA, taught fine-art black and white image processing in the darkroom in the

University of California Berkeley for a long time. Despite being an electrical engineer, Ihtisham's main interest is in photography and writing. He held his first solo exhibition in Dhaka in 1987 and later he held a number of exhibitions abroad. Ihtisham's images and words are combined together in his columns 'Tangents* which appears every week on The Daily Star.

The exhibit will run from February 1-10 from lam- 8pm except Wednesdays at home n d&or, bti Premier Plaza at Pragati Sharani in the capital.
