The Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday filed a case against six people, including three government officials, for misappropriating a vested property in the capital's Wari.

ACC Assistant Director Abubakar Siddique lodged the case against former assistant commissioner (land) at Kotwali Anisur Rahman (now Rab executive magistrate and law officer), former surveyor Samar Chandra Sutradar, former assistant officer (land) Humayyun Mollah, Mohammad Ali Hossain, M Mohiuddin and Jinat Ara Parvin of Wari.

According to the case statement, Jinat field a petition with Kotwali Assistant Commissioner's (Land) office seeking mutation of eight decimals of land on BCC road in Wari on December 13,2011.

The land was declared as an enemy property in 1965 as the owner of the land Jasoda Lalbagh Roy went to India in 1947. Later it was recorded as vested property in 2012, the statement said. Though it was a vested property Humayun and Samar did not raise any objection and recommended for providing mutation to Jinat in their report, the statement added.

Anisur who then was an assistant commissioner (Land) recorded mutation against Jinat who then showed the land was sold to Mohiuddin and Mohammad Ali in 2013.
