The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in its investigation found the ruling party lawmaker Enamul Haque to have concealed information of his properties worth over Tk 200 crore in his wealth statements.
The lawmaker from Rajshahi-4 was grilled by the ACC deputy director Jatan Kumar Roy at its headquarters in the capital yesterday.
Emerging from the ACC headquarters, Enamul told reporters that he had no properties beyond his statements submitted to the Election Commission before the January 5 parliamentary elections and then to ACC.
However, the commission in its probe found that Enamul has ownership of Ena Enterprise, a real estate company, which has seven sister concerns.
A top ACC official said "Enamul concealed information regarding the Ena Enterprise, where he and his wife have overTk 200 crore."
Contacted, Enamulsaid "Ena
Enterprise is a separate entity bearing separate TIN (Tax Identification Number). So I did not mention it in my wealth statement."
Meanwhile, ACC deputy director Nasir Uddin, who investigated wealth of ex-state minister Abdul Mannan Khan's wife Syeda Hasina Sultana, submitted his report requesting its permission to sue her for concealing wealth information.
Last month, the graft watchdog sued Abdul Mannan Khan, former state minister for housing and public works, along with Awami League legislator Abdur Rahman Bodi and ex-state minister for water resources Mahbubur Rahman for the same alle-
gation.
Regarding Syeda Hasina Sultana, another top ACC official said during investigation ACC found that she concealed information of Tk 2 crore and also failed to produce any document pertaining to the income source ofTk 1.5 crore.
Earlier in January, the ACC launched a probe against them and some other former and current lawmakers on allegations of illegal wealth accumulation.
The investigation was followed after media reports revealed huge discrepancies in the wealth statements of the ex-ministers and lawmakers based on the affidavits the seven submitted to the Election Commission in 2013 and 2008.
