A woman and her daughter were electrocuted at Kalihati upazila in Tangail district yesterday. The deceased are Sumela Begum, 80, and her daughter Bhasani Begum, 45, of Char Bashi village in the upazila. Officer-in-Charge Monir Hossain of Kalihati Police Station said Sumela came in contact with an electric wire at around 10:00am. As Bhasani came to rescue her mother, she also got electric shock. Seriously injured Sumela and Bhasani were taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared them dead.
