Marking the 153rd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, Manab Shilpa-Sahitya-Sangskriti Goshthi (MSSSG) arranged a solo Hawaiian guitar recital at Poet Sufia Kamal auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on May 3. The event titled Sroddhanjali: Sundar Hey Sundar, featured recital of 16 Tagore songs on Hawaiian guitar by noted artiste Rehana Matlub. This was the fourth solo recital by the artiste.

With steel bar in her left hand and a pick in right hand, the artiste got immersed in producing melodies of the songs "Sarthak Janam Amar," "O Amar Desh-er Mati," "Ohey Sundar," "Ami Tomar Songey," "Pagla Hawar," "Shawan Gaganey," "Kanna Hashir Dol Dolano" and "Hey Nuton Dekha DikArbar."

The audience received the recital with applauses. Tauhidul Islam Khan Sonnet on acoustic guitar, Rashidul Gani on esraj, Prabal Burmon on keyboard, Subrata Kumar Modak on tabla and Rashidul Hasan Jiban on octopad accompanied the featured artiste.

Prior to that, Ali Pushpita Mouri rendered two songs "Esho Bondhu Esho" and "Thomke Daray Gacch-er Pata" as homage to the bard while founder-secretary of MSSSG Professor Matlub Ali delivered welcome address at the event.
