Police yesterday recovered Tk 2.5 lakh more of the looted Sonali Bank money from another rented house of Yusuf Munshi in the capital's Kodomtoli area and detained Yusufs second wife for quizzing.

The money was on the sixth floor of a six-storey building near Madina Mosque, said Abdul Malek, officer-in-charge of Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station.

Police suspect that Yusuf rented the house after the heist to transfer the five sacks of money he kept in another house in the area, he added.

Rapid Action Battalion arrested siblings - Yusuf and Idris Munshi - and recovered Tk 16.19 crore out of the looted amount, Tk 16.4 crore, in the house in the capital's Shyampur on Tuesday, two days after the unearthing of the heist through a tunnel to the main branch of Sonali Bank in Kishoreganj district headquarters.

Mahila Akter, Yusufs second wife with whom he was staying at a house in Kishoreganj, was detained from her uncle's house in the capital's Jurain area, the OC added.
