Grand Master Ziaur Rahman shared the second position in the Masters event of the 89th Hastings International Chess Congress at the close of the third round held at the Horntye Park of East Sussex, England yesterday.

Zia beat Prosviriakov Vladimir of USA in the third round to earn 2.5 and share the second position along with seven other players. Zia was scheduled to play against German FM Stewart Neil last night.

Some 94 players, including 12 GM, 12 IM from 23 countries are taking part in the tournament.
