Jamaat-e-Islami yesterday claimed that the government, out of political vengeance, was trying to kill Abdul Quader Mollah, disregarding the constitution, the Supreme Court and the jail code.

Issuing a statement, it claimed that the government made a plan to kill Mollah even though several countries and the UN had requested the execution of Mollah to be stopped.

Jamaat also claimed that the government sponsored criminals were involved in the countrywide violence and that it had nothing to do with it.

Protesting ongoing violence, the party said the violence across the country did not have any relation to the party's movement. It denied of being involved in the arson of Supreme Court Justice SK Sinha's village home in Moulvibazar yesterday.
