A daylong butterfly fair will be held in Zahir Raihan auditorium of Jahangirnagar University tomorrow to attach importance to butterflies in maintaining ecological balance.

In collaboration with Jiban O Prokriti Foundation, JU zoology department is organising the fair with the slogan "Urley Akashey Projapoti, Prokriti Pai Notun Goti", Prof Mohammad Monwar Hossain of the department told a press conference on the campus.

Events of the daylong fair include children's art competition on nature and butterflies, photography competition on butterflies, displaying butterflies, kite flying, and documentary on butterflies and debate competition.

"Butterflies of Bangladesh-A Pictorial Handbook" portraying 225 butterflies will be unveiled in the fair. Transport facilities from Dhaka to the campus will be available on the day for the participants in the fair, said Monwar.
