The question papers of English and Bangla in primary terminal examinations under four districts were leaked out, disclosed Primary and Mass Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday citing its probe report.

"Around 80 percent questions of English and 50 percent questions of Bangla got matched with the leaked question papers in Dhaka, Khulna, Satkhira and Dinajpur," he told a press briefing at his secretariat.

Nahid said the ministry' will not cancel the examinations of English and Bangla subjects for the "partial leak" in the districts. He, however, said divisional and departmental actions would be taken against the people involved in the leak.

He said they will take special care in evaluating English answer sheets to save students from any difficulties. Cuardians in Dhaka and other districts complained of the question paper leak soon after beginning of the exams on November 20. The three-member probe com-mittee, formed on November 23, submitted its report on Sunday.

Disclosing the probe report, Nahid said a quarter, including a coaching centre in Mymensingh and employees of National Academy for Primary Education, the formulator of the question papers, were involved in the question paper leak.

The committee made some recommendations,

including a change in question paper formulation, action against the people involved in it and more inquiry about the suspects.

More than 29 lakh class V students from schools and madrasas are sitting for the exams at 6,574 centres across the country.
