BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed yesterday blasted the government for using billboards to spread information about its works and said that the government had started the “politics of grabbing billboards like someone grabs land".

Demanding punishment for those involved in this campaigning, he asked the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to locate the source of the campaign fund. He, however, noted that the ACC could not unearth the source of the money as it had become biased towards the government.

Moudud made the remarks at a discussion of the Democratic Movement, a pro-BNP organisation, at the capital's Jatiya Press Club on "Public sufferings, information terrorism of the government and citizens' thoughts".

He claimed that the billboards had no relation with the masses and had indicated the last sign of the fall of the government. "You |government| may set up thousands of billboards but you can't win the heart of the people because it is tough to remove people's anger," Moudud said.

He again threatened the government with tougher agitation of the opposition if it did not restore the caretaker government system.
